Performance comparison of O-ring raw materials
SIL silicone rubber O-ring:
SIL silicone rubber O-ring has excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, ozone resistance and atmospheric aging resistance. Has very good insulation properties. However, the tensile strength is relatively general, the rubber is relatively poor, and it is not oil-resistant. More suitable for household appliances, such as electric water heaters, electric irons, microwave ovens, etc. It is also suitable for all kinds of articles that are in contact with the human body, such as kettles, drinking fountains, etc. It is not recommended to use in most concentrated solvents, oils, concentrated acids and sodium hydroxide. The general use temperature range is -55~250 ℃.
VITON fluorine rubber O-ring:
VITON fluorine rubber O-rings have high temperature resistance, which is better than silicone rubber. It has excellent weather resistance, ozone resistance and chemical resistance, but not very cold resistance. It is resistant to most oils and solvents, especially acids, aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons and animal and vegetable oils. It is more suitable for the sealing requirements of diesel engines, fuel systems and chemical plants. Not recommended for use in ketones, low molecular weight esters and nitrate-containing mixtures. The general temperature range is -20~250 ℃. It should be noted that it is resistant to oil and acid, but not alkali.
FLS fluorosilicone rubber O-ring:
The performance of VITON fluorine rubber O-ring has the advantages of fluorine rubber and silicone rubber, and it has good resistance to oil, solvent, fuel oil and high and low temperature. It can resist the corrosion of oxygen-containing compounds, aromatic hydrocarbon-containing solvents and chlorine-containing solvents. Generally used for aviation, aerospace and military purposes. It is not recommended to expose to ketones and brake fluid. The general use temperature range is -50~200 ℃.
EPDM rubber O-ring:
EPDM rubber O-ring has good weather resistance, ozone resistance, water resistance and chemical resistance. It can be used for alcohols and ketones, and can also be used for sealing in high temperature water vapor environment. It is more suitable for bathroom equipment, car radiator and car brake system. Not recommended for food use or exposure to mineral oil. The general operating temperature range is -55~150 ℃. It should be noted that it is resistant to oil and acid, but not alkali.
